[If it's anything like things in Blake's life at the moment, probably not good. Which is why he thinks to ask (since he doubts Dean's given up his anger completely just yet).]
[The message actually takes her by surprise. She knows Blake's a good guy, they're on the same team and everything, both close to Dean and both part of the resistance, but somehow she didn't expect to hear much of anything from anyone for the next few weeks, if not longer. She hasn't talked to Dean, but that alone is indicative of just how angry he is. She can't imagine what he might have said to other people.
Not that she can blame him. He's right, after all.]
Hey. It's about what you probably expected, I'm guessing.
[Stressful. Sad. Anger on all sides.]
Thank you again for what you did. I really appreciate your help. How are you doing?
Yeah, I'd like that. I'm free whenever. Kind of taking it easy after everything that happened.
[Which means she's been keeping to herself and trying to come to terms with all of the things that were done by the thing wearing her face. It hasn't been easy.]
[It's ten minutes or so before she responds. She knows enough to decipher what the text really means, and it takes a few moments to decide whether or not she's feeling sociable -- but she is hungry, enough so that it outweighs her need to withdraw.]
[ even after he's talked to tom -- yeah, fucking weird looking at your own face without it being another version of himself -- dean's thoughts linger on the guy for a long while. the pieces start falling together slowly at first; jo telling him that it had been tom who she'd turned to when he had failed her, that tom was a murderous bastard even if he was claiming a semi-innocence card, that he'd hurt a lot of people...
it's late when he texts her because he needs to know, now that things are making more sense, and she'd been honest with him before-- he needs that again. ]
That guy, tom did he hurt you too?
[ never mind that this is the firs time they've spoken since their chat. ]
[She stares at the message for a long time before responding. Honesty is important to her, being straight with Dean about all of this is vital if she ever hopes to mend things between them -- though she wouldn't blame him if he decided not to. But she doesn't want anyone going after Tom. More violence won't make anything better, won't undo anything. She can't be sure that Dean won't do something impulsive.
Finally, she responds, though she rewrites her message a few times before deciding to send.]
(OOC: Let's just go all out and say I posted this earlier in the event. X|)
[It's been a day and some since Wonderland went monochromatic and the puppy floodgates opened. A day is about all a person wise to the ways of the place needs to strap themselves in.]
More dogs.
Feeling any strange urges to adopt them all, dog whisperer?
[The canine invasion is a little too perfect after how Jo had been acting not that long ago.]
[ eventually he figures out there is in fact a call button. this is about ten minutes after the text. ]
Jo--I'm sorry for the last message, but I wish to speak with you...it's about the last, um. Event, and you have much knowledge of the ones that have occurred in the past.
If you could find it in your time to speak with me soon, I would be grateful.
[ there's some awkward fumbling before he finally turns it off. click! ]
[She knows what he's doing. John Blake always does the comfort food thing, and a part of her feels like she should have been the one to offer it to him first, instead, all things considered-- but she's missed that opportunity. Even after being out of action for a couple of days, he's himself. That takes a lot of strength, as far as she's concerned.]
Here until closing time. Could technically leave it self-serve, but I like working. Sticking it out until last call.
[Hey, Jo, it's you know who, and he's got something on his mind he'd like to share with someone with a little more clout than himself.]
I don't know if you've noticed, but we're getting an angel infestation and it's not because of that mini-apocalypse of angels and demons we had a while back.
[Adam's least favorite topic, but one that hits close to home.]
I was talking to this guy, he tipped me off about them. They sound like bad news. That new guy with the stick up his ass is Michael. Their Michael. And that Gabriel that just hit the ground running? Apparently he's all for wiping us out. This guy says they went after humanity Terminator-style.
If you haven't already, you might want to, you know, spread the word. Add them to the monster watch list.
[It's been a wild up and down week. Being stuck on the other side of the glass with the rest of the freaky mirror people had sucked; since everybody's switched back to their proper place, Cooper's practically been giving himself a stroke, so excited to be reunited and back to their usual routine.
In all of that, it'd be easy to let this other matter get lost in the shuffle, but Adam hasn't forgotten that he needs to talk to Jo, and for more than just to check in.]
Hey, Jo? You got a minute?
[And maybe some sedatives on hand? Though he and Jo get along, this might not be pretty.]
[It doesn't matter what else is going on, how hectic things are or how busy Jo herself might be -- she always makes time for Adam, and now is no exception.]
Always. What's up?
[He sounds a little -- hesitant, maybe? Like it's more than just a social call. That worries her, but not too much. They've handled most everything that Wonderland's thrown at them so far. Mostly.]
[There's nothing to preempt this message, and he doesn't explain himself. There doesn't seem to be much need to, when that fight between what appeared to be two vampires had been broadcast for all to see.
Jo's name has been mentioned. One of them has an interest, and the other has made attempts to control her. Castiel has every reason to be concerned.]
[She'd seen the video, too, and she's almost positive the whole thing had been intentionally staged by Klaus. Whether it was or wasn't, she's upping the amount of vervain on her person. She's still not positive that it's safe to drink, but she's been wearing it in a bracelet around her wrist and now added a necklace with a locket stuffed with vervain beneath her shirt.]
[ they might have mostly been on radio silence since dean broke up her date with elijah, but after what he's just seen on the network, dean can't just stay quiet. to think she's been mind-whammied for whoever knows how long by one of those-- things, and he hadn't known-- it makes his stomach curl.
that being said, dean doesn't let himself think about contacting her too much, just goes by instinct alone. and right now, that instinct screams over worry for her. ]
Hey. You don't know me, but I can help you - I can reverse the compulsion if you want. Get you back your memories. My name's Davina - there's also ways to prevent it from happening again.
How can you reverse compulsion? [Pause.] I know about vervain. I've been wearing some, but I think the damage had already been done before I learned about it.
[Adam's contribution to the anti-vampire chain gang of concern starts off a bit more uncertain, but no less worried and wary on her behalf.
He just knows her as Jo, not Joanna, and he's never seen the monsters having a shit fit downstairs in his life, but he's also not a big believer in coincidences anymore. Adam suspects he knows the answer before he asks--the asking is just a way to mask the fact he's got a bad itch to throw a grenade into the kitchen and be done with it.]
How many 'Joanna's are there in this place, exactly?
[She knew his call would come sooner rather than later. There was no way Adam was going to overlook this one -- not that she wanted to. She's relieved to hear from him, and the sound of his voice is actually enough to force her to calm down just a tiny bit. Not much, but it might be enough.]
